What’s Reiki?
Reiki—“rei” generally meaning “spiritual wisdom” and “ki” meaning “life energy”— is a Japanese healing technique used for stress reduction and relaxation. When a person receives a reiki session, the reiki practitioner channels healing energy to the client’s body. Reiki can be administered either through physical touch or through hovering over the client’s body. After a session, a client may experience some fatigue or relaxation. Either way, these symptoms may signal that a reiki session is actually working!
Think of it as an energetic massage! For example, a typical massage session increases blood flow through relaxing muscle tissue. In a similar fashion, a typical reiki healing session increases a client’s energy flow through working out any energy blockages.
